Our Story
Goulding Freight Services Ltd was established in 2003 by Sarah and Stu Goulding. Previously, Stu had worked in Irish Freight Forwarding since the age of 18 building a well-recognised reputation in the UK & Ireland. In 2004, Operations Director Paul Stephens joined the business after having already worked with Stu closely for 6 years. Together, they grew the business to what it is today. In 2020, GFS bought a top of the range warehouse in South Liverpool with an adjoining office building to improve the service they give their customers. The move meant GFS had a bigger capacity to handle more freight and employ more staff.
GFS invested in new warehouse technologies, including a top of the range CCTV & tracking system to give their customers more insight into the movement of their freight. In January 2021, Brexit meant Goulding Freight Services had to adapt their business to align with customs requirements. GFS, set up a one stop shop by bringing in a new customs team and investing in high-end customs technologies in order to comply with any new regulations for moving goods into and out of Northern Ireland & the Republic of Ireland. GFS streamlined the change for their customers by advising them on documentation requirements, advising on every stage of the customs process and keeping them updated with any changes they would need to know post-Brexit.
In 2023, GFS has over 200 regular customers shipping from all over the UK to multiple locations in Northern Ireland & the Republic of Ireland. With the knowledge and expertise of the staff at GFS, their customers know that they are a freight forwarder they can trust.
